Webinar on tobacco cessation prog held

Tobacco Control and Research Cell (TCRC) of Dhaka International University, Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance (BATA) and Bangladesh Cancer Society have jointly organised a webinar on “Importance of National Tobacco Cessation Programmes in Bangladesh”.

The webinar was held on Tuesday (July 6) Prof Dr Golam Mohiuddin Faruque, Project Director and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Cancer Society, in the chair.

Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, MP, President of the TCRC, joined the programme as the chief guest, while Dr S. Quadir Patwary, Vice-Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Dhaka International University, delivered the welcome speech.

Md. Bazlur Rahman, Member Secretary of the TCRC and Associate Professor of DIU, present the keynote, while Hossain Ali Khondokar, Additional Secretary of Health Ministry and  and Syed Mahbubul Alam Tahin, Technical Adviser of The Union, spoke on the occasion, among others.
